A simple concept site, this was one I had to get up and running literally within 24 hours in order to meet advertising deadlines in the local press. The concept was quite simple and the brief was clear. Get across to the public that we offer a door to door service with MOT tests and car repairs in plain English. Hopefully this site does just that!

Initially I was asked to design and build a new website for this new business. After I had built the website I was also asked to come into the business as a business  consultant  in order to devise a simple yet effective system of managing customers, cars and work scheduling. All of this was to be achieved on a very tight budget therefore I selected an off the shelf package, installed and configured it and trained the owners of the garage in its use. I helped manage the garage for six months too while these new business systems and processes were adopted with great success.

A personal project where I write about anything running related and some other items of interest. This was my first attempt at designing and writing a WordPress theme from scratch. I experimented with Twitter integration such as my latest tweets and I intend to build upon the social media aspect of the site by implementing some of the exciting new features available in WordPress 3.0 such as multiple blogs, custom post types and taxonomies. The vision is for this site to evolve into a membership portal providing information and various benefits for its members, not least of course the  personal blog within the site and interconnection with various social media sites.

The client already had a domain with a number of static HTML files formed into a basic site. I was asked to install WordPress on the domain, install a suitable theme, brand it for the customer and publish all the static html pages as dynamic pages from the WordPress system. Maintaining the site now is much quicker and easier allowing the customer to keep the site up to date without too much effort and no need for any HTML skills in order to do so.
